Current Activities
Test Pit Campaign in Sutton Montis
Not in three days a la Time Team, but in three long weekends, we plan to answer some of the questions raised by SCEP's 2008 survey of a number of fields in Sutton Montis including;
- What is the age of the 'trackways' crossing the fields?
- What is their relationship to the ridge and furrow which crosses them?
- What is the rectangular enclosure?
We will be digging:
- over the Easter weekend from Thursday 1st April to Tuesday 6th April (in progress, if somewhat damp(?!), as this update is written)
- from Friday 16th April to Monday 19th April, and
- over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend from Friday 30th April to Monday 3rd May.
Make sure that you when you will be coming along so that our activities can be properly planned.
No previous digging experience is needed and there are jobs for all physiques. For insurance purposes, only members can participate but, of course, we welcome new members, so if you have friends who would like to become members and join in please invite them along.
