Join Us
You can join in with any of our activities, regardless of your experience or lack of it. We work year round, during the week and sometimes at weekends, depending on what projects are underway. We welcome equally retired professors of archaeology, and complete beginners, but it helps to know what sort of background or interests you have, and whether there is something you would particularly like to do, or feel that you might not be able to manage. You can come along for a block of time or on a day a week basis, whatever suits you.
If you want to join in, we will ask you to join SSARG. This costs only £10 per year and means that you are covered by our insurance, as well as other benefits:
- Insurance cover (Employers Liability and Public Liability) for all project activities
- Monthly email newsletter – Project news, events info etc
- Free annual report
- Priority for project events (lectures, workshops etc)
- Organised outings to local sites of historic and archaeological interest
- Social events
To join us, please return a completed membership application form with your membership fee to the Treasurer. Depending on your browser settings, the form will either open in a new window or in your word processor.
