SSARG is based at Home Farm, Sutton Montis, Somerset, BA22 7HF.
From the A303 (between Sparkford and Wincanton). Take the turning signposted to South Cadbury – this is two junctions along from Wincanton and likewise from Sparkford.
Drive through South Cadbury village; you should pass the Camelot pub (!) and the village church on your right. Keep going right out of the village and follow the road around – it loops around the south side of the hillfort which you need to keep on your right hand side. Ignore the several left turns available!
You will pass a house on your right and the road then goes up a slight rise and then round a left-right bend at the beginning of Sutton Montis. Drive down until you reach a T junction. There will be a pink house on the corner on the right hand side and a post box built into the wall in front of you.
Turn left. Follow the road for about ½ mile through the village – houses on both sides of the road – until you reach a left turn. Ignore that, but just past it on the right hand side of the road is the entrance to Home Farm – between brick and stone built house and farm buildings. Keep going past the farm house. The project workshop is behind the house, and our entrance is to the rear. Follow the road round until you see a house on the right hand side with a turn to the right immediately before it signposted Weston Bampfylde. Take that turn, and follow the road for about 100m. There is a turn into a field on the right. Follow the concrete roadway between the newly planted tree avenue (and normally sheep) all the way up to the big group of farm buildings. There is a hard standing to the left which will normally have some cars parked on it.
Opposite the car parking area is the workshop for Vortex hovercraft – normally with hovercraft parked outside! SSARG occupies the other half of that building, so walk past Vortex, round the large fieldgate. The workshop entrance is on the right hand side.
